Citizenship Award
Each year at BirmingHAMfest, the Birmingham Amateur Radio Club makes a special presentation of the Citizenship Award. This is the highest honor awarded by the Birmingham Amateur Radio Club in recognition of outstanding service, unselfish devotion and contributions to the Club, the community and to the Amateur Radio Fraternity. The recipient is selected by the President and two past recipients of the award.

Bicentennial of the State of Alabama
We are celebrating the Bicentennial of the State of Alabama. On December 14, 2017, on the 198th birthday of the state, Governor Kay Ivey made the first call using AL2C from the Old Assembly Hall of the State Capitol in Montgomery, Alabama. We will operate for two years and to help commemorate this special time for the State of Alabama.
We QSL via LoTW. For anyone wishing to obtain a special certificate, go to where you can download and print out a certificate thanking you for your contact with our station.
This special commemorative station was initiated by K4LIA, Chris Hall, ARRL Government Liaison for Alabama. He obtained the gracious help and cooperation of the Governor of Alabama, Kay Ivey, and the State of Alabama Bicentennial Commission.
On March 2 & 3 we will be operating from the BirmingHamfest on whichever HF bands are open and on D-Star REF058B. If you are at the Hamfest, come by and see us, have a seat and help us make some contacts.
